Amalgam Fillings

Health problems such as emotional instability, impaired growth during fetal development, concentration problems to developmental delays during childhood are some of the effects associated with mercury used in dental clinics. Mercury depresses the immune system, and is related to autoimmune diseases, ulcerative colitis, Alzheimer's, depression, etc.. Besides mercury increases the number and severity of allergies. Other symptoms are fatigue, aggression and loss of appetite.
Mercury is used in the mix to fix the teeth affected by caries. Amalgams or silver fillings known are a mixture of zinc, tin, silver and mercury, the latter with a 50 percent in the mixture has the function of alloy (join) all metals and is highly detrimental to health.

Mercury can infiltrate the body through three main channels:

The first occurs when from the mouth and nasal cavities mercury vapors reach the bloodstream and, through the nerves, the brain directly.

Elemental or metallic mercury amalgam turns into inorganic mercury by the action of the oral flora, another part is transformed into methylmercury dangerous, experts say.

Mercury vapors are ingested in part by the lungs through the airways and also pass into the bloodstream. Since organs like the liver, gallbladder, heart and kidneys work as a blood filter, this is where it is stored mainly the toxic metal.

The second route of intake of mercury occurs when amalgam particles emerge when chewing food and brushing vigorously (and more so if it breaks and swallow a piece of amalgam).

Although the intestinal absorption of mercury is usually at most 10 percent, on reaching the intestine is converted to methyl mercury (the most dangerous) with the aid of the intestinal flora and from there passes into the bloodstream and finally is stored in the organs.

Mercury also spreads from the gums, tooth roots and jaw to the central nervous system.

It is even more dangerous when there is decay under the amalgam or when placed in root canals. Amalgam manufacturers themselves advise against them in endodontics, pregnant women (because of the danger to women, but especially for the fetus, as the mercuric ion crosses the placenta) and amalgam to children (because their immune systems have not is fully formed) and people with serious kidney problems.

Despite having started its use more than 150 years and have little evidence of damage to health, no one denies that mercury is a health hazard.

"Patients who have most of their teeth filled with amalgam  faced problems wiith the nervous system, behavioral problems, irritability and nervousness.

The main problem is that when teeth have amalgam fillings they cause "silent and gradual" problems because the fumes from the pieces exude no smell, no taste, and you can not perceive what is really affecting us.
